Tanganda Honoured for Outstanding OSH Leadership at NSSA SHAW Conference 2025

Tanganda Tea Company (Macadamia Plant) was recognized for its exceptional commitment to occupational safety and health (OSH) at the 62nd Annual Safety and Health at Work (SHAW) Conference hosted by the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) on October 23, 2025.

The company received the prestigious award for Exemplary Leadership in OSH Management and Achieving Good OSH Practices (Mutare Region Agro Industrial Sector), a testament to its proactive approach in fostering a safe and healthy working environment across its operations. Tanganda’s OSH strategy has been lauded for integrating safety into its corporate culture, investing in employee training and implementing robust risk management systems.

Held under the theme “OSH Tech and the Future of Work”, the 2025 NSSA SHAW Conference brought together industry leaders, policymakers and safety professionals to celebrate innovation and excellence in workplace safety. Tanganda’s recognition highlights its role as a benchmark for OSH standards in Zimbabwe’s agro-industrial sector.

This accolade not only affirms Tanganda’s leadership in OSH but also reinforces its dedication to employee welfare and sustainable business practices

Herbert Nkala

Non-Executive Chairman

Herbert Nkala is a Businessman and a Marketing Consultant. Herbert holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree from the University of Wales (U.K.) and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Zimbabwe. 

His leadership career in the corporate world began as a Technical Executive with Dairibord Zimbabwe and he subsequently became the Marketing Director for the same company and later joined Delta as Marketing Director for the National Breweries of Zimbabwe. 

He continued his leadership growth as Chief Executive Officer and led the transformation of the then Zimbabwe Tourism Investment Company to Rainbow Tourism Group Limited, culminating in its listing on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

Herbert is currently the Chairman of the boards of FBC Holdings Limited and OK Zimbabwe Limited, both of which are listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. Herbert is a former chairman of African Sun Limited, Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), Astra Holdings amongst many other Public and Private entities. He is also a trustee of the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Foundation.
