Celebrating 57 Years of Dedication: Farewell to Sherrington K. Hlatshwayo

On 17 October 2025, we gathered at the Tanganda John Moxon Conference Centre to honour and bid farewell to a true legend of our organization Sherrington K. Hlatshwayo who officially retired after an extraordinary 57 years of dedicated service on the 30th of September 2025.

Sherrington (SK) began their journey with Tanganda Tea then Rhodesia Tea Estates in 1968, joining from Mt Selinda Hospital where he had a dual rope of office clerk and ambulance driver. Over the decades, SK has been a cornerstone of our team, embodying professionalism, loyalty and an unwavering commitment to excellence. From his early days in the factory as a general worker to becoming a respected leader and mentor in his final role as Senior Estate Manager, SK leaves behind a remarkable legacy of hard work and integrity.

Throughout his career, SK witnessed and contributed to the evolution of our organization. His deep knowledge, steady presence and unmatched work ethic have made a lasting impact not only on the work we do but on the people he has worked alongside.

The farewell event on 17 October was a celebration filled with warmth, gratitude and memories. Colleagues, family and stakeholders came together to share stories, express appreciation, and reflect on the incredible journey of someone who has given more than five decades to one company a rare and inspiring achievement.

As SK embarks on this well-earned retirement, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the years of service, friendship and inspiration. Sekuru Sherry you have truly set the standard, and your legacy will live on in the culture and spirit of our workplace.

Wishing you all the best in your next chapter may it be as fulfilling and impactful as your time here with us.
